Program Description

Event Details

Whatever you call them— pudgy pies, campfire pies, or mountain pies, Pudgy Pie Guy Jon Riemann, will share the how-to and how-not-to of cooking with pie irons on Saturday, September 14th, at 11am, at Grand Crossing Park.

Jon will discuss the types of pie irons, seasoning and care of cast iron, and cooking tips. Learn some history, check out a collection of vintage pie irons, and take an opportunity to make your own pudgy pie. He’ll demonstrate how to make pizza, Rubens, macaroni and cheese, and fruit-filled pies. Everyone will have the opportunity to make their own pudgy pie, so bring a beverage.

This is a great demonstration for anyone interested in getting pie irons for their next camping trip or to learn more for taking their outdoor cooking to the next level. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please register everyone that will be participating.
