NEW to Graphic Novel Book Club: PLEASE REGISTER for this series throught the calendar to attend! You will register once for the entirety of the series.

Books ready at the front desk after each meeting for checkout--if you miss a book club, just stop at the main desk for our next read!

Join us for an awesome Graphic Novel reading adventure! Each session, we will discuss a pre-selected book, enjoy a snack, and complete an activity related to our book selection!

For parents: Despite contrary belief, research has shown that Graphic Novels are incredibly beneficial to children and their literacy skills! Graphic novels often contain more advanced vocabulary than chapter books, are helpful to readers with dyslexia, and are a way to encourage reluctant readers to engage in reading.

Don’t get caught up in trying to create perfection. This program is about exploring new techniques and giving ourselves time to be creative! 

Registration Required | Ages 6-8

Start the literary adventure of a lifetime with our NEW book club for newly independent readers! Book Scouts will earn read books, engage in community helper activities, and earn badges for their achievements. Our group will read a wide variety of books--from graphic novels, illustrated chapter books, and more. The group will regularly meet the second Tuesday of each month to discuss our latest book, enjoy a snack, and engage in an activity. We will also enjoy pop-up opportunities to help support the community with literacy needs.

Book Scouts will receive a specialty item that will hold all of the badges they earn throughout the program. Scouts will mark off their books and activities as they complete through Beanstack. Prior to registering for this program, caregivers will need to create an account for their child in Beanstack if they do not already have an account.

Pop in for our Monthly Knit Night, the third Tuesday of each month. 

This is an informal, drop-in knitting event. Bring your own project and spend some time in the company of other creative folks. 

Beginners are also welcome. Experienced knitters will be on hand with skill, support, and patience. Random yarn and knitting needles are also available for learning.

Join us in the storytime room for an open LEGO building space with bricks for all ages. Set aside your LEGO creation after the program to have it put in our glass display case!

The Friday Morning Book Group focuses on thought-provoking and enjoyable reads in a variety of genres, including both fiction and non-fiction. Copies will be available at the library. Ebooks and Audiobooks are also available through Libby.

ArtStudio Kids is an open-ended, heart-led process art program! Each session, we focus on unique materials and techniques, rather than specific project outcomes to create a unique work of art. This allows children to explore their creativity, practice innovation, and learn through play.
 

We will occasionally feature artists from the community to come in and lead us in our artistic pursuits. Check each event listing for special guest announcements! This program can get MESSY! Dress accordingly!

An excellent way for children and their adults to socialize outside. Activities may include but are not limited to open-ended play, blocks, storytelling, puppets, scavenger hunts, crafts, and more! Ages 2-6 but younger and older siblings/friends are always welcome.  If the weather is questionable, we will do our best to move our nature-themed activities inside.
