Unwind and get your hands in the soil! Learn why starting veggies and flowers from seed gives you more variety and more flexibility than buying transplants—especially if you want to expand your tastebuds or culinary horizons. We’ll cover reading seed packets, choosing the right varieties, and setting yourself up for success from seeding to transplanting, growing, and harvesting.
Each participant will make compostable seed-starting pots and plant seeds to take home and grow in their own garden this summer. Varieties include tomatoes, summer and winter squash, greens, beans, peas, zinnias, and more. We’ll also have soil block makers on hand for anyone who wants to try an even more low-waste way to start seeds.
What to bring: Take-out trays without holes if you have them, but trays will be provided.
Space is limited. Please register to reserve your spot.
