About the presenter: Gavin Schmitt is the author of thirteen books; as a professional historian, he focuses on crime in the Midwest within a broader social and political context. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a philosophy degree, he was trained to use logic and critical thinking to sort fact from fiction.
His book Milwaukee Mafia: Mobsters in the Heartland (2015, Barricade) was the first book to focus on organized crime in Wisconsin, and spawned multiple sequels. Schmitt was asked to co-host the Milwaukee Mafia podcast. Now with over 100 episodes, this bi-weekly series is available from Apple, Spotify and many other outlets.
